Idiom: en avril ne te découvre pas d'un fil, en mai fais ce qu'il te plaît
Explanation: Literally 'in April do not remove a thread, in May do as you please'. The first days of warm weather after the winter may be misleading and do not mean that you should stop wearing your winter clothes. The English idiom used as a translation expresses the same idea as French in a much more concise fashion. Note that the French proverb can be used in an abbreviated version which will be understood because of the context.
Examples: N'oublie pas ton écharpe, rappelle-toi le proverbe: en avril... Demain j'arrête de porter des collants, en mai fais ce qu'il te plaît.
