The cinemas in Bangkok are great and at £1 for a very comfortable modern seat head to the World Trade Centre or Future Park to watch the latest movie, probably even before being released in the UK. You thought the Brits were patriotic - at the start of all movies in Thailand be prepared to stand up from your seat, put your right hand to your heart while the Thai national anthem is played and movie clips of the King are projected for an awe-inspired audience. If you don't stand up then be prepared for lots of disrespectful stares - insulting the Thai Royal family in this way is a big NO…Spitting Image would be banned.
