conjunction & preposition 1 introducing the second element in a comparison. 2 used to introduce an exception or contrast. 3 used in expressions indicating one thing happening immediately after another. USAGE Traditionally, it has been regarded as wrong to use me and us rather than I and we following the word than: shes younger than I rather than shes younger than me. In modern English, however, the use with me and us is quite acceptable, while I and we are generally only used in formal situations. ORIGIN Old English, originally the same word as THEN.
